I thought since I finally setup my Bernina 880 again, I would give you an update on my Machine Applique projects that I have been working on this past year. When Alison went to the Sewing Machine doctor, I went on a hiatus. My 880 is my preferred machine for appliquing and I have dozens of different color bobbins already wound. Here we go!
A Year In Words Series by Shabby Fabrics
I finished my November “Give Thanks” this past weekend. It feels really good to get it up on the wall so everyone can enjoy it – especially me!
“Winter” is still waiting for binding. I made a promise to finish all my Thanksgiving projects first, but now that Alison (B880) is ready, maybe I will go ahead and finish this one up.
I started appliquing on “Summer” this past weekend. So far I have only finished RED but that is a great start right?
August is called “You are my Sunshine”. The beehives have been pieced and the words and bees have been fused. This is just waiting for so tender loving blanket stitches.
I have pulled out December which is (surprise!) Christmas. I hope to cut the pieced blocks and get them sewn this weekend. But we shall see.
A-Doorn-aments Series by Shabby Fabrics
I am actually getting down to the last few of this series. Currently I have June Strawberries and July Stars on my sewing table. The red on these two is also done. There are not a lot of colors and the shapes are big so this series goes pretty fast.
Blooming Series by Shabby Fabrics
I love this series. I just wish it was easier. Although July “Stars” is not too bad. It is defenitely going to be quicker than either June “Daisies” or August “Sunflowers”. I got started on July already since I was working with red thread this week. The Daises and Sunflowers are both pieced and fused.
I pulled out the December Blooming Series which are “Poinsettias”. I have my fingers crossed that I can work on it soon.
Coming Soon….
I am still unpacking my sewing room boxes. It is exciting to come across my Bonnie Sullivan and McKenna Ryan projects. Several that were started before the flood. I need to get them organized so I can work on them.
Well everyone have a great day and if you are American – A Happy Thanksgiving!
Peggy
Hi Beth! LOVE all of your appliqué projects. Your Give Thanks reminds me that I have a similar hanging somewhere. Hmm. It should really be out now, huh?! I also have a snowman and I know exactly where it is. No way I’m putting that puppy out – snow can stay away as long as possible. Good luck finishing up your projects – I’m glad your machine is back from the spa. ~smile~ Roseanne
Hi Roseanne! Thanks for stopping by and reading through the blog. I know I tend to ramble. Hopefully they are much shorter now than a year ago. Techncially Give Thanks wall hanging should be out, but I will never tell. Just a little longer for the snowman wall hanging.
