How has your week been? Mine has been fairly productive. I worked on everything from last week’s list except one thing and even finished a lot. Feeling good. Last Friday was my Quilting Zoom Day with quilty friends. It was awesome and so motivating. Sometimes I wish we did it more often than once a month.
My orange kitties have been very helpful this week. Sitting on projects while I try to sew. Stealing my thread spools and pins. Even running around with thread and needles and scaring the crap out of me. Even now Simba is petting me while I am attempting to type. He has already walked across the keyboard multiple times. He is such a sweety when he is feeling helpful.

Week 8 To Do List ( March 29th – April 4th)
To Do #1 – Finish Assembling Center of Sunshine Quilt
I finished sewing all of the rows on Friday but I still have row 9 to attach to all the rest and to iron out. Then it will be time to think about the borders and if I am going to use what I have already pulled or if I will use something else. Overall, this quilt is coming together nicely.
To Do #2 – Bind & Label Over & Under Quilt
This is the quilt that I am supposed to working on for March off my APQ Resolution list. I was seriously getting worried that I would have to go use something else for binding.
On Friday while doing a little Show & Tell I was staring across the room at my Ikea storage units and suddenly just KNEW where that binding was. I had put it in a little 6 x 6 container and put a bunch of snowmen on top of it. When I went through all the containers the week before I never even touched that cube. Silly me! I jumped up and ran over and grabbed the container. Jackpot!!!! Not only was the binding for the Over & Under in there but also the binding strips for another quilt on my list. I was so happy to find that one small special container.
Over the weekend, I sewed and ironed my binding so we are a go to bind and finish off this fun quilt. I even pulled the label out so I don’t forget to add the label during the binding process.
I still hope to finish before flying off to Seattle on Friday for a Mother / Daughter weekend.
To Do #3 – Make binding for Black & Gold quilt
I was so excited to finish quilting this gorgeous quilt. I am still learning. It only took me 3 1/2 hours this time. Of course, I broke it up and it doesn’t count the time I took to re-iron the top because I didn’t like how it was laying on the batting for the long arm. I didn’t have any major screw ups and I love the pattern I used with this one. I had dragonflies, flowers, and bumble bees.
To Do #4 – Make Label for Black & Gold quilt
I decided to add this just in case I am inspired to have everything ready to finish the Black & Gold quilt when I get back from Seattle next week.
To Do #5 – Quilt March Table Runner
I keep moving this forward. I would like to get this done, but there is no rush so don’t be surprised if you see this one again. I think I have been pushing if forward for several weeks so far.
To Do #6 – Assemble February Table Runner
I just feel like I need to finish assembling this now since I have the plan stuck in my head. Yesterday while in my sewing studio, I was able to cut sashing and got halfway through assembling the top. I will need to cut some border still because I want my table runner fatter than 9 inches.
To Do #7 – Assemble clue #2 of Mystery Sew A Long
On Friday, I worked on this along with sewing all three Monthly Color Challenge blocks. This clue has a lot of pieces so I am about 2/3 of the way done. I would like to finish that up this week.
To Do #8 – Prep Pieces for Ruby’s Garden Block
I must be crazy. I fell off the wagon with my English Paper Piecing projects and I want to get back into it. The easiest one to get back in the groove with is this traditional hexagon block. My Grandmother’s name is Ruby and she made me a wedding quilt which is hand pieced and hand quilted. The quilt is over 30 years old and is well worn. This project is an attempt to replace that beautiful quilt she made me so I can preserve the original. I am using the same colorway as close as I can get. I am using Lori Holt’s fabrics because I felt it gave the same feel as all that yard sale clothes my grandmother used to make her little hexies.
To Do #9 – Piece on Ruby’s Garden Quilt block
I started EPP when I was the main transportation for my grandson to and from hockey practices. So many down hours and you can only read so many books. Then I found that it was a super easy projects for travel as well. I didn’t do any during this past hockey season due to falling off the wagon.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw someone else in the To Do Tuesday group posting their EPP blocks and it inspired me to get back to these beautiful legacy projects. I hope to finish at least one block on my Mother / Daughter weekend.
Recap Week #8
Dang it! I still have a long list of things to do. I guess it isn’t all bad. Until I started doing these, I wasn’t getting anything really done on any of my projects. Now I am looking at finishing multiple projects in the next few weeks. So far, I have finished at least half of the things on the list and worked on almost everything each week. Small wins for the large win.

A list really does help to give us focus! Enjoy your time reconnecting with EPP, a skill I haven’t felt the need to learn, but admire those with patience!
Thanks for the encouragement
Well goodness, you do have a lot of things going–and you’re staying on top of them all! Fun times in your sewing room! :o) Do you drink a lot of coffee, or what? LOL!
I drink a lot of tea! Thanks for the encouragement Cheree!
Wow Peggy your To Do list puts mine to shame. Congratulations on figuring out where your long-lost label was located! Simba looks like my Jack – he sits as close to me as he can get and puts his paw on me until I stop everything to pet him. He also walks on my keyboard and sometimes does strange things to the laptop screen. 😉 Your mother-daughter weekend sounds like fun. Your start on Ruby’s Garden quilt is beautiful. My Mom’s name was Ruby, so I’m partial to that name.
Thank you for linking up with To Do Tuesday!
Thanks Linda! Fun to have a link with someone else with Ruby. It is a uncommon name these days. Thank you very much for all of your encouragement!
