Hi Everyone! Hope your Mother’s Day was good. I spent it with my sister and brother-in-law. It was a great day with great food. I will be linking up with Carol again at Quilt Schmilt for this week’s To Do Tuesday linky party.
What Got Done This Week
I almost sewed every day this week. Obviously Sunday was out, I did make it to the sewing studio five out of seven days even if it was for only 15 minutes. I made some nice headway on projects which has felt really good.
- I set a goal to applique on Shamrock Ridge House block at least 3 colors (out of 9). I finished all the colors but 3! Total over achiever this week.
- I cut 2 more Sweet Childhood Memories blocks from Pat Sloan’s Block Wednesday QAL (which finished so I have now downloaded all the weeks). It just wasn’t what I originally thought I was going to do. I have decided to start working on section one of the quilt so I need to complete blocks 10, 12, & 15. I finished sewing 10 & 12 this week.
- I pulled and cut May Monthly Color Challenge block. It is beautiful shades of “baby” blue out of my Alison Glass fabric collection.
- I finished sewing all 6 of the Medium Log Cabin blocks for my Tula Pink Butterfly quilt.
- I finished sewing 2 out of 16 Small Log Cabin blocks for my Tula Pink Butterfly quilt with some inroads on six other blocks.
- I did finally pull out my English Paper Piecing projects and start working on my last block of Lost & Found quilt. I had a goal of working on it for 15 minutes every day. I did only once this week. I carried it around with me, so that is an improvement! I completed 3 sub units this week that contain 1 inch hexies and 1 inch equilateral triangles.

LOL! I can tell I haven’t travelled this month. My To Do List tends to grow when I am home.
I think I mentioned before, for me, the to do list is a list of possiblities. If I don’t feel like sewing, I can look at the list and cut something or assemble something. I start feeling overwhelmed, it always feels good to finally finish something. It is a list of possibilities and the next steps on my active projects.
With a list of 93 WIPs, I have really been feeling the need to finish those things that are close. I’ve got a stack of tops to be quilted and some projects close to being done. I am ready to check some off this month.
Wrap Up
Today my oldest turned 36. Where has the years gone? I sit here remembering the day he was born and those adorable moments of firsts – first tooth, first step, first word, first day of school…. He is still trying to find himself and so I have learned to let him go. In this world of overparenting, it has not been easy.
Happy Birthday Steven! I love you!
I got some happy mail this week. I received my next installment of On Wander Lane – Bunny Knoll. I can’t wait to get started.
I will leave you with a picture of my oldest cat – Cali hanging out in my room.
Have a great week and good luck on your special projects!
Peggy Stockwell
Peggy you did get a lot done again this week. It is strange when we sit and realize that out children have grown up and are no longer kids! All of your blocks are pretty but your Shamrock Ridge is a show stopper. I had to stop and look and go back several times. Is it in your header photo as well? Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. I hope you had another week filled with fabric fun.
Is that the Shamrock Ridge House block in your header? Such neat stitches, whatever it is! Yes it is hard to “let go” with our kids. Heck I’m still trying to find myself at 74 – lol! Cali is beautiful. I really, really like your To Do “possibilities” idea and am trying to remember that as I look at my list each week.
