It has been a busy week at the Reno Quilt Show but we still managed to get some stitching in as we settled down for the night. Not as much as normal, but still a decent amount. We finished our classes yesterday and walked the show floor in just a couple of hours. That turned out to be a good thing since we only had a couple of hours. 😂.
Thursday night we drove over to Gardnerville to stay at a friend’s house and to hit our favorite quilt store – Quilt House. As usual, it was productive and fabric that we haven’t been able to find was found. We will be heading home today. But before we do that: Let’s take a look at this week’s projects.
Starts & Finishes
Only one start and no finishes this week.
START: May Monthly Markings by Heart in Hand

I was able to start this cute little chart before heading to Reno. I didn’t want to start! Stitching the ladybug was so fun. You may recall that I have elected to stitch each month into a larger piece. Whenever the WIPGO comes up for this I will work on the adorable border that goes around these.
WIP Updates
I had my one project on took on the trip, but before I left I got to work on quite a few projects.

This project is coming along nicely. Hopefully you can see that most of the stitches are white on the light gray fabric to give the impression of a glass house. I really am enjoying this stitch. It is so much fun to add the pops of color with the flowers.
WIPGO Project: Snowballs For Sale

I forgot to take pictures the other night I worked on it, but here is my last night in Reno. I am filling in the snowman. That was easiest to do while on my trip since I had a basic outline of the snowman already done. The nicest thing is that since I started at the bottom, that is the widest. Filling in while you chit chat is always a good thing.

I am sure you are tired of hearing how I love this project. It is so easy and fun, I just can’t help but go on and on about it. Pictured here is June 1st – 6th in San Jose, California. You see those dark reds – we had high of 98 during this time frame. While we get hot weather, in the summer it is usually in the 70’s & 80’s with no humidity. One of the reason I love living here.

Another fun project to work on. I am on the last section called “make a splash” and it has waves. Once I finish the section I can start my last Summer chart. I finished Spring this year and Autumn last fall. Getting close to finishing the whole series which is really exciting.

This is the last in this series that I need to finish. I had kind of thought the word block would be harder than I found it. Last week I stitched mostly white and this week I filled in the white I already stitched. Went way faster than expected. I can see the end of the tunnel. I am starting to get impatient to finish.

Another one so close to being done. I finished filling in the snowman this week and even got started on finishing up his pants. I still have to stitch a strongman and bear on the side of him before he is finished. Both of those will go really fast. I am hoping this is the month with lots of finished stitches.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts

Hmmm. Now let’s think about what I want to work on when I get home tonight and next week.
- I missed a night of Snowballs for Sale in Reno, so I will be working on it again Friday night
- June 7-12 books for the Temperature Library
- Finish up May Monthly Markings (yes!)
- Finish up Let’s Talk Summer (yes!)
- Work on last chart of Autumn Baskets
- Work on Fruit of Plenty
- Work on Blooming Tiny Town
- Work on January Month to Month
- Start June Year of Celebration Season 2
The list looks a little ambitious, but I am going to go for it anyway. It will be nice to spend this week settling back in at home and catching up on chores. I have a lot of meetings and stuff. My grandson thinks we need to go grocery shopping because according to him there is no food in the house. 🙄😂
Everyone have a great weekend and I will catch up with you next Tuesday!

So glad you had a great time in Reno and beyond! Will Grandson accompany you to the store? I never tire of hearing how you love any project, especially that pretty temperature one. Enjoy your Sunday!
