Welcome to this week’s edition of Floss Friday where I share what I have been up to for the past week and what I hope to do this coming week. It has been nice to be home all week and we are definitely have spring weather. One day it is sunny and 70 and the next it is raining and 50. LOL! Welcome Spring!
Starts & Finishes
I had six new starts planned for the month of March. I started number five this week. Let’s take a look.
START: February Year of Celebration – Season 2 by Hands on Design
I started this cutie this week. It has been fun stitching the love birds. This is my little project that I will stitch on for an hour every day until it is finished. I am not expecting it to take too long to wrap up. I am already over half way.
This series is being stitched on 16ct aida. I think it is dirty aida, but I have forgot now. I am using the called for floss which includes Classic Colorworks, DMC, and Weeks Dye Works.
WIP Updates
I was surprised when I actually looked at what I stitched this week. I didn’t realize that I spent so much time working on just one project. I had expected to work on more….
WIPGO Project: Snow Village by Country Cottage Needleworks
My WIPGO goal was to work on this project five times this month. When I finished my fifth night, I was so close to finishing the Ice Creamery. I opted in to finish off the Ice Creamery before putting this one away for a few months. I won’t lie, I am tempted to keep it out. There is only two charts out of the eleven left to stitch. I just have too many projects out right now. This one will definitely be finished in 2024 one way or another.
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
I am so close to finishing this that I am anxious to do so. I just have the upper strawberry & flower border left and this one is done. I am not very far in this series. When I finish this one that will be my fourth out of the series completed.
Stitching with the Housewives keep their color count down which is nice. Unfortunately there is a ton of starts and stops which really slows it down. I like their stuff, but it’s not easy as it looks.
Let’s Talk Spring Framed Chart by Hands on Design
Last night I totally got sucked into this project. I finished all of the word Raindrops (after restitching the D three times. 😝. Stitched all my raindrops on the right as well as starting “green grass” and “nest”. I met my goal of working on this twice in March. Super pleased with the progress.
The Let’s Talk series has been fun. I have finished autumn, almost finished winter and now spring. But Summer there is a lot to do. So I hope to finish up Spring in April so I can get extra time on the summer projects.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I have the rest of March planned out but haven’t even looked at April yet. I have another week at home before hitting the road for a quick trip to see my brother.
Here is the upcoming week’s plan:
- Finish February Year of Celebration
- Start March Year of Celebration
- Start May Stackables
- Finish my WIPGO goal for Fall Harvest (3 more X)
- Work on Fruity of Plenty
- June Calendar Crates
- Snowman Collector – The Clown
- Let’s Talk Spring
That should keep me out of trouble this week. Have a great weekend everyone!
