Hello Everyone! Hope you have fun plans for the weekend. Today is gorgeous and sunny here. They are predicting highs of 68F.
Starts & Finishes
This week was pretty productive.
START: Hummingbird Sampler by Heart in Hand

I had slated to start a different project last night, but just couldn’t resist working on my favorite bird – the Hummingbird! I am using 16 ct legacy aida which is a cream with a green tinge to it. I felt it was perfect with the Classic Colorworks Weeping Willow floss. So of course I did the bird first!
START & FINISH: February Monthly Markings by Heart in Hand

After last week, I was on such a roll that I just kept rolling with my Monthly Markings project and finished the February square and worked a little more on the border. Really love the Gentle Arts Antique Rose heart.
FINISH: Autumn Basket #2 by Hands on Designs

I can’t remember what cloth I used but it looks like vintage mocha but definitely 16 count aida with the called for DMC flss. This was so much fun to stitch. I ended up doing one color at a time with this one once the outlines were stitched. Just one more to stitch in this series of triple play pillows.
WIP Updates
One of the techniques I have used this week is spending 30-60 minutes on a WIP that is close to being done, but I couldn’t finish in the assigned time frame. That is how I ended up finishing Autumn Basket above and what I have been doing with one of my projects below.
June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives

This one is getting close to me doing the one berry a night. LOL! Everything is done except the top border which is two layers of borders. I just finished the bottom layer this week. Looks so good. Just love this red!
WIPGO Project: Snow Village by Country Cottage Needleworks

Worked on this one a couple of times this week. Finished everything in the Snowball Stand except the snowy ground. I secretly hoped that I would make more progress but when you have to unstitch and restitch, that is just not going to happen. I started this project back in 2020 so it is my oldest WIP. One way or the other I will finish this one in 2024. 4 years is long enough.
My WIPGO goal is work on five times during March. Two down. Three to go.
2024 SJ Temperature Library by Kristi’s Corner

The first night found me filling in more of the bookcase and starting the February shelf. Not that I intended to, but I only worked on color at a time. Last night I spent an hour adding a second color. I am currently working on filling out that February shelf one color at a time….
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts

If you follow my quilting, you know that I am a bit ADD. When I first picked cross stitch back up I tried to stick with only one project, but it got boring and definitely was NOT fun. Originally, I managed to stick to only seven projects – one for every day of the week. That worked for the longest time. But slowly it has creeped up there. Nowadays, I am trying to keep it under 20. LOL!
Now that 20 used to be all WIPs, today it means not more than 20 active WIPs. I currently have a total of 22 total WIPs with only 12 active WIPs and four more planned starts this month and hopefully 3 more finishes (but that includes the February Library shelf).
Next Thursday I will be hitting the road again. Meanwhile, I am squeezing in the following:
- Continue working on February’s shelf of the 2024 Temperature Library
- December Snapshot 1x
- Snowman Collector – The Clown 1x
- Start Blooming Tiny Town
- Mr August (Calendar Gnome) 1x
- Snow Village 1x
- January Month 2 Month Barn 1x
Yall all know not to hold me to any of this as sometimes I just feel like doing something else or maybe I don’t have the time in the evening that I expected to have. Like tonight my grandson has practice for 8:45pm to midnight. I am thinking lots of stitching time tonight. But Monday night not so much because of Hockey as well.

I have also am in the midst of my online course which has a lot of homework this week.
Happy Stitching Everyone!

Peggy i love all of your stitchy projects!
Those Autumn Baskets are eye-catching! Simba is such a good helper and manages to look adorable while working. 8:45-midnight is certainly a different time to practice! Enjoy your projects Peggy, we won’t hold you to any of them. 🙂
