Hello Everyone! Hope you have fun plans for the weekend. I am just checking in with this week’s eye candy and plans for the upcoming week. The weather here in Nor Cal has definitely cooled off but still balmy compared to the rest of the country.
February WIPGO
Numbers have been pulled for February and I am in the process of prepping for February projects. Our pull for February are 7 & 8. Let’s take a look at what those projects will be for me.
Project 7: christmas calendar by tiny modernist
It looks like I will be working on my Christmas Calendar again. That should be fun. My goal will be to finish 3 days – Day 12, 7 & 2 – in February. It feels real ambitious but two days didn’t seem like enough. It typically takes me 2 days per “day”.
Project 8: frosty tiny town by heart in hand
I recently finished Seaside Tiny Town, so next up is Frosty Tiny Town. This will be a new start for February. Because of the nature of this chart, I can’t really load it into my Markup software (at least not easily) so we will be falling back on the tried and true goal of work on 5 times in February.
Starts & Finishes
One new start and no finishes.
January goals
I will not be hitting my start and finish goals for January. A rare miss for me with my cross stitch. I knew it was going to be a stretch and it sure doesn’t hurt to have stretch goals. We still have some January 31st left so might hit a few more. (That is my optimism speaking)

START: WIPGO Project: Mr. January by charlie’s Needle
I spent the majority of this week finally getting started on Mr. January after pulling threads and prepping the fabric. My goal for January was to finish 2000 stitches. I picked 2000 because I knew I would be working with linen and I am just plain slower so I was super pleased to have finished 2160 stitches.
I had to order to floss colors and they will be here on Saturday so I have had to work around the missing blues. I am 42% finished which made me feel real good. Sometimes I hate white thread. It never seams to lay nice no matter what I do so I try not to think about it.
WIP Updates
With the push for my WIPGO project Mr. January and working hard to finish Snow Village, the variety of projects I worked on this week was limited. Here are the other projects.
Wipgo project: fruit of plenty by modern folk embroidery
I hit my 2500 stitches WIPGO goal for this project and am super pleased with the progress I have made on this project. I am working on page 7 of 9 and am 47% done with the page. I love it!
Snowman collector: the shepherd by cottage garden samplings
I focused on working on the bottom of my shepherd working on the foliage and filling in for his bottom. It is coming along nicely.
Snow village by country cottage needlework
I made a big push to try and hit my finish goal for this project. While there is still time to actually finish, but more likely than not, it will be a February finish. I finished the Iced Coffee Cafe this week as well as starting the Sno Cone Cart. Love it and am excited that I will be finishing it this year!
Afterthoughts
Hmmm. My todo list for January is still pretty long plus we will be starting February which I haven’t put a great deal of thought or planning into yet. But here is my best shot at what I will be working on for the next week:
- Start Pop of Winter
- Finish Snow Village
- Add buttons to Seaside Tiny Town
- Add buttons to Blooming Tiny Town
- Start Frosty Tiny Town
- Work on Crescent City Velarius
- Add buttons to Monthly Markings
- Kit up January Doodle
- Start Winter Basket #2
- Work on Christmas Calendar
- Work on 2025 Moon Phases (Jan 7 -12 at least)
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you found some inspiration amoungst my chaos 🤪. Come back Tuesday to see what I worked on with my quilty projects.
